About Me
Anne Kearney is an artist, writer, and environmental psychologist.
Kearney’s artwork and process draw on her decades of experience studying the interactions between people and their surroundings while working for universities, non-profits and NASA. She is energized by the struggle of finding new ways to communicate the essence of abstract ideas through simple art materials.
Kearney’s writing turns the lens of cognitive science and psychology on artists, exploring what these fields have to tell us about creativity, making art, and functioning at our best in this complex world.
Kearney has a BA in Psychology/Cognitive Science from Stanford University, a MS in Resource Policy and Behavior and PhD in Environmental Psychology from the University of Michigan, and has studied art throughout her life. She currently lives in the vibrant city of Barcelona.
